Dear MagneticEnergyGenerators,
I am a 4th yr environmental engineering student and as our senior design project we are building a marine tidal current turbine. I am writing you to ask for help. I have done piles of research and decided finally on a pmg generation system for our turbine. I wish to have a rim design with the magnets on the outer ring of the blades and coils attached to the support and funnel structure. My main question is would it be possible to accomplish a pmg using a single magnet rotor and coil stator must I have two magnetic rotors. The problem I am having is coming up with a simplistic enough design to work for testing and building. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated and i will happily give mention of my source. The diameter of the blades is 24″ and I was thinking about an 18 coil stator if thats helps.
